Anyone who has done an oil change knows that its a frustrating mess from start to finish. Oil drains onto the frame cross member which then turns the stream into a fan pattern and you end up with four quarts of oil on the top side of the skid plate which then seemingly spreads from bumper to bumper. Adding fresh oil is nearly impossible without making a mess. To get oil into the spout, which Can Am decided to place almost in the center of the vehicle, you need to work around a labyrinth of engine parts in order to reach the fill spout. If you run a storage box on the back, like I do, the option of feeding a hose down through the bed into the fill spout is not and option unless you remove the storage box. This funnel is designed with 360 degrees of coverage which not only directs the main oil flow but captures any fanning/splashing of the stream when it contacts the funnel. The bottom hole is large enough to allow tools and the drain plugs to pass through without clogging and it allows for clear sight of the drain plugs from the bottom of the vehicle. We all know that its hard enough to get an arm between the frame, engine and sway bar links and getting a funnel in there is no different. For that reason this funnel is printed in TPU 95A which is flexible and also has great heat resistance. What really sets this funnel apart from the rest is the addition of the removeable fill neck. Once you've finished the drain operation, its time to move the the fill operation. Clean any old oil and debris from the funnel and any loose dirt from the engine bay, pop on the fill spout on put it into the the fill/dipstick spout. The funnel is labeled "Fill-Driver Side". Insert the funnel with that label facing out towards the driver side and your oil fill spout is now roughly four times the size of the dip stick spout on the engine. The funnel is also heavily offset from center on that side which make the funnel much more accessible then the fill spout on the vehicle.
**The MELTING POINT of the TPU95A used to make this funnel is specified in the manufacturers "Technical Data Sheet” to be 183 degrees Celsius (361 degrees Fahrenheit). DO NOT USE THIS FUNNEL if your engine oil temperature is in excess of 260 degrees Fahrenheit (a safe 100 degree Fahrenheit buffer). IF your engine oil temperature IS in excess of 260 degrees Fahrenheit, melting this is funnel is probably the least of your problems. ALWAYS WEAR EYE PROTECTION WHEN SERVICING YOUR VEHICLES **
